LA FARRAPONA - CUESTA DEL COLLADÍN - LOS CORROS ROUTE

The route starts with the climb to the Alto del Colladín: a gentle ascent of 150 metres opens the way to a very wide, enjoyable descent with Las Ubiñas in the background. Once down at the Puertos de Balbarán, climb towards the Peñas de Traspando, which offer several descent options. Two options are marked on the map, and the descent can be made by numerous variants.

Return to the Puertos de Balbarán and look for the climb towards Los Corros. From Los Corros, the views of the high mountains of Somiedo are impressive.

If you finish this part of the route late in the day and are lucky with the light, you can also get the best photographs at dusk, with a quick and easy descent straight to where you left the car.

The ski descents all along this route allow wide turns and are a great pleasure.

The Alto de La Farrapona must be reached from Somiedo, as the road is kept open by snowploughs as far as possible. It is advisable to fit winter tyres and to check the state of the road and any adverse weather conditions.
