Food in Somiedo is Asturian mountain cooking: pote de berzas
(cabbage stew), fabada, cachopo and, above all, beef from the
vaca roxa, the Asturiana de los Valles breed you will
see grazing all over the park. Most places are in
Pola de Somiedo, the main village,
and there are two in Valle del Lago,
right at the trailhead.
These are small villages with few tables: in July, August and on
Spanish long weekends it is wise to book, and out of
season to ring ahead and check they are open.
Where to eat in Pola de Somiedo
